Art Transformations

Through a process of artistic collaboration with you, I will help illustrate an unconscious theme from your initial creative abstract painting or drawing.

First you will draw or paint only random patterns or abstract designs. I will then find and "draw out" images, objects, or figures I see emerging from your artwork. I will also write a brief descriptive story for your personal reflection.

In collaboration, we will create an insightful work of original art.

Transformed collaborative artwork

This brief story/description accompanies the above collaborative artwork. It is to be interpreted by the client as though it were a dream:
It's a view from above. Symbols lean to the right. And these include a green cross on the right shoulder and an intestinal sound coming from the right ear. The yellow-link fence is partially involved with this figure. The head is ruled by purple and the body is ruled by blues. Orange is the aura. What is the red? The green cross is a healing cross. The yellow fence could also be friendly distractions.

About the Artist

Sarah Hatch has been painting and using this method of seeing images for thirty years. As a child, she saw pictures in trees and clouds. Now, as an adult, she brings this gift to others by helping them see images hidden in their own psyches.

Instructions

On an 8" x 10" piece of paper, preferably acid free, draw or paint with coloured pencils, pastels, water colours, acrylics, or markers, using any colours, creating random patterns of abstract design. Mail your drawing in a protective cardboard envelope, along with a 9" x 12" self-addressed, stamped envelope and a $50 check made out to Sarah Hatch (address below). [Note: The security of your drawing in the mail will depend on the durability of the envelopes you use.] Sarah will then complete the process and return the finished art and description to you in the envelope you provide (please allow 2-3 weeks). Please specify what medium you have used: i.e., coloured pencils, markers, acrylics, etc. (No oils please).
