Candler Park Profile:
Candler Park is a wonderfully walkable neighborhood with several small business districts clustered along McLendon Avenue and DeKalb Avenue. The Little Five Points business district is the northwest gateway to the neighborhood (McLendon at Moreland Avenue). [Go to our L5P Profile.]
There are 2 small business districts along McLendon on either side of Candler Park (the actual park at the center of the neighborhood). There are a number of restaurants clustered around the Clifton Road district as well as the Candler Park Market (great wine selection!), Donna Van Gogh's art gallery, and some fun shops. The smaller district at Oakland Road is home to a flower market, art gallery, and belly dancing studio, among other businesses.
The businesses along DeKalb Avenue are more of a commercial and light industrial nature except for a couple of restaurants (Radial and Asada). The Candler Park Connection is a group of businesses on DeKalb at Mell Avenue and include such diverse offerings as the Boutique Guitar Exchange and the Wall Crawler Rock Club. There's also a convenient car wash at DeKalb and Clifton.
